Jake Horne’s

Bar mitzvah

FOR THOSE OF YOU COMING TO THE SERVICE ON SATURDAY, THE SERVICE IS 10:30 a.m. AT THE YESHIVA GIRLS’ SCHOOL, 6401 FORBES AVENUE.

Hey Everyone,

Welcome to my Bar Mitzvah website.  Here is what you might want to know about the event.

It will be happening at 6:00 @ Shady Side Academy Ice Rink, September 5, 2010.  We will have a short service, then we eat, skate, and dance.  You will need to bring your own skates, if you want to go on the ice.  Don’t worry if you don’t skate, because there will be dancing, too.  You can get dropped off at the rink, park in the lot next to the rink, or in the one below the rink.  Pick up will be @ 11:00.

You do not have to come to the service on Saturday, but for those of you who want to come, it is at the Yeshiva School on the corner of Forbes and Denniston Avenues in Squirrel Hill at 10:30 in the morning.   We will have a short ceremony on Sunday before we party.  That is where I will tell you all about my Mitzvah project with the Friendship Circle.

For the last year, I have been volunteering for an organization for kids with special needs.  We do fun activities together and make sure that our friends of all abilities are enjoying the activities.  I have enjoyed participating, and I’ve gotten to know some cool and special people.  When I heard that these kids aren’t included in birthday parties or Bar Mitzvahs, it made me feel sad.  So, I have invited all my new friends at the Friendship Circle to my party.   I feel lucky to get to have a party like this, and I am very excited for these kids to be a part of it.
